“The full moon is out.”

The preparations only get hastened, and everyone else walks to and fro just to get everything in order and in place. After we spent the evening together, Inez went back to her room, and I've not seen her for quite some time.

With the help of the maids, I am finally able to get ready and walk downstairs, ready to face the crowd. I notice that almost half of the pack is present. I knew that it was going to be a big ceremony, but I didn't expect this.

I was left in my chair and took a seat, waiting for Inez to arrive. A few minutes later, I look up to see Inez, dressed up in one of the most gorgeous attires.

She walks down slowly, a smile on her face. She approaches me and takes a seat beside me. I can sense that she's feeling nervous, and I immediately intertwine our hands together to help ease her.

“You're doing great,” I assure her.

She smiles at me, and the priests start the ceremony. I am not feeling too nervous, but I want this to be over for her sake because I can tell that she is not feeling too good about it.

We drink a whole lot of things that the priest prepared, and a knife is brought forth. It's a sacred knife that's been used for ages by different Alphas and Lunas.

The priest hands it to me, and I use it to cut my palm, and she does the same. We intertwine our hands together, making the blood mix while staring deep into each other's eyes.

I start to feel mixed feelings, a kind of tingling sensation surrounding my body. I have never had to deal with such a dread that she's even more frightened by it. I can feel her emotions and know exactly how frightened she is.

“You have nothing to worry about. It will be over before you know it.”

She smiles at me, and I look at her and notice that a whole lot of things are changing in her. Her body is becoming more and more white. She's more stunned by the situation.

In no time, I change into a wolf, leaving her mouth agape. She soon turns into a pure white wolf. I am amazed by the scene but decide to remain quiet to cease anything that would cause drama.

The entire pack changes into their wolf forms, and they all bow to us.

“All hail Alpha Zion and our Luna.”

They chant it about five times before my dad comes in, ushering them to back up. We all turn back to our human forms and loud applause follows.

I use my hands as a way to stop them, taking back our seats. I start to feel a bit nauseous and excuse myself to the bathroom.”

I wash my face and stare blankly at the mirror, trying to get a grasp over myself. I have never felt this way before, and maybe it's because I will be taking over such a huge responsibility and it's taking a mild toll on me.
